Working to the Highest Furniture Safety Standards
ASPACE has been associated with children’s safety product for many years, both nursery and juvenile. We’re passionate about making use of our rich heritage of knowledge and expertise to make sure that products meet the most stringent testing to ensure due safety - especially child safety.
We ensure before when we create a new design, we work to the appropriate British furniture safety standards with regard to function, construction and testing of beds and furniture. We have an internal calibrated test house manned by experienced engineers and safety testers, where the products are tested for integrity, durability and stability which ensures the product is “fit for purpose” and longevity of use. We also make use, when appropriate, of accredited Test Houses to confirm and align our internal test results.
All internal testing we undertake has a written test report supported by photographic evidence, be it for testing an entire product or to confirm new production methods, components or manufacture techniques. Full product risk assessments in line with GSPR 2005 are undertaken to identify areas of concern and where possible action taken to eliminate risk or at least reduce it to a minimum related to the function.
Regarding furniture with drawers, to prevent them accidentally being pulled right out and causing injury, drawer stops are fitted. To improve our furniture we have recently introduced on some ranges soft close fitments to doors and drawers removing/reducing possible finger traps.
For all our products there are comprehensive Instructions which provide full safety information and each product is individually labelled with prudent safety advice related to its intended use.
