A Trip To Watergate Bay Hotel
Sand between your toes, wave after wave to surf, and a big, comfy Aspace bed to fall into at the end of a sunny day. Sounds pretty fantastic, doesn’t it!
Well, that’s the reality for the guests of Watergate Bay Hotel.
Set on a spectacular surfing beach on North Cornwall’s coast, Aspace have been the trusted supplier of children’s bed within the hotel for over 10 years. And it’s easy to see why, with so many fantastic activities on offer among the Cornish elements, and plenty of places to eat and drink. A sumptuous night’s sleep in a quality bed at the end of an adventurous day is as absolute must for excitable little ones.
With everything sounding so spectacular, it of course only felt right for the Aspace team to take a road trip down South to visit the hotel and see the beautiful setting for ourselves. We couldn’t have chosen a better day for a trip to the seaside, the sun was shining, and the crystal-clear skies made a game of ‘I can see the sea!’ super easy.
Pulling up in front of the hotel it’s clear to see why so many guests visit time and time again. With the beach right on the doorstep, there’s breath taking views across the bay, something the hotel truly makes the most of. There’s scenes of the rugged coastline from the contemporary Cornish living space and restaurants, and modern suites and bedrooms.
We took a tour, taking in the stylish Living Space, the secluded Swim Club, (Watergate Bay Hotel’s take on a spa with a beautiful infinity pool and treatment rooms) the great facilities of the Extreme Academy Surf School and the Ofsted rated Kids’ Zone and XA Club exclusively for children aged 3 – 12. And of course, we popped into a few of the hotel’s suites and bedrooms to see how our beds were holding up after accommodating thousands of families over the past decade. We were thrilled to see that they still look as good as the day they left the Aspace warehouse!
Naturally after exploring so many different sides to Watergate Bay Hotel, we’d worked up quite an appetite. After some down time in The Living Space and a menu that had us all licking our lips in anticipation for our meals to arrive, we were suitably refuelled for a hearty walk across the beach, local ice cream in hand of course! Despite such warm, sunny weather we had the beach almost to ourselves. The rugged coastline, crashing waves and over excitable four-legged friends who were also making the most of the beach made for a beautiful scene as we mooched along the sand.
Turning to head home, we came back to Wiltshire with heads full of new ideas, tummies full of delicious food, and pockets full with an incredible prize.
Watergate Bay Hotel kindly gave us a trip for a family of four with surf lessons included. Cristín Williams and her family were the winners, keep an eye out here to be the first to find out all about their prize visit coming soon.
